Bummer alert! A few years ago I miscarried my second baby, lost my Dad to cancer and then my husband, Aaron, died from a brain tumor, all within weeks of each other. These are all really sad stories, but they are not *only* sad stories. They are love stories and life stories and sometimes even funny stories. I wrote about my experiences while we were living them on a blog, My Husband’s Tumor. Before Aaron died, we wrote his obituary, which went viral.

Since then, I've started some things:

I co-founded a very real, very cool club for people who lost their significant other, The Hot Young Widows Club. You don't have to think of yourself as young or hot to join, but we will. Join us.

I started Still Kickin, a non-profit inspired by the t-shirt Aaron wore when he had a seizure that would uncover his brain tumor. Still Kickin helps really good humans going through really terrible things.

I wrote a book, “It’s Okay to Laugh (Crying is Cool Too)” and I still can't get over that is a real thing in the world you can touch and buy at Target.

I've given keynote speeches for a variety of events across the country. I'm uniquely and reluctantly qualified to talk about how to live when the most terrible things happen.
